102 West Lee Street

The Rawls Cotton Gin stood empty and crumbling until the owners of Corks & Cattle set out to find a space to expand. Corks & Cattle originally opened in April of 2014 on Main Street and housed a butcher, craft beer and wine shop along with a wine bar in the back. As more and more customers asked for a dining option, we realized we needed to add a kitchen and this location didn’t suit our needs for that purpose. As we were being shown various downtown buildings, the ruins of the old cotton gin that we had caught a glimpse of during our search, really caught our eyes. We felt the “old girl” had a story to tell from the past and we wanted to be a part of that incredible heritage. Much work was done to bring the cotton gin back to an operational state. It was of upmost importance to us that the structure’s integrity be maintained. We incorporated many elements from the original building and they can be seen throughout. In May, 2018, we opened the doors of the “new” Corks & Cattle. Current Hours: Lunch(Tuesday - Friday 11am-2pm)Brunch (Saturday 10:30am-2pm)& Dinner served in our Café and on our Patio (dinner Wednesday - Saturday 5pm-9pm)
